We are delighted to announce that Dr. Matthias Magoola, founder and CEO of Dei Group of Companies, has been honored with a prestigious global entrepreneurship award. This recognition was bestowed during the 10th International Excellence and Global Leadership Award ceremony by Fame Times International Excellence Awards in Bangkok, Thailand, earlier this year.

Dr. Magoola’s innovative contributions to advanced therapeutics and his commitment to job creation have been pivotal in transforming Uganda’s pharmaceutical landscape. Under his leadership, Dei Group is establishing a state-of-the-art facility in Matugga, Wakiso District, dedicated to manufacturing mRNA vaccines, gene therapies, and other novel biological treatments. This ambitious project, valued at approximately $1.1 billion (about UGX 4.3 trillion), is set to position Uganda at the forefront of medical research and production in Africa.

In addition to the entrepreneurship accolade, Dr. Magoola was awarded a professional doctorate in management by the European International University of France during the same event. His groundbreaking research has led to several U.S. patents, including the first chemical drug using N-Isobutyll-3,4-methylenedioxy-trans-cinnamide compositions to treat malaria and an mRNA universal vaccine against malaria. His work also encompasses mRNA vaccines targeting neurodegenerative disorders, diabetes, HIV, and HPV.

Dr. Magoola’s dedication extends beyond research; he actively shares his findings through peer-reviewed publications, contributing to global scientific knowledge. His recent papers include studies on innovative interventions for Alzheimer’s disease and advancements in therapeutic protein expression.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Magoola for these remarkable achievements. His visionary leadership not only elevates Uganda’s standing in global medical research but also brings hope to millions worldwide through advancements in treatment and healthcare solutions.
